Subaru Lease Buyouts Made Easy

TL;DR (3-minute read): When your lease is ending, you might be wondering, should I buy out my Subaru? Good news: Lease End makes buying out your lease simple, stress-free, and way easier than dealing with the dealership.

Subarus are easy to love. Whether it’s your trusty Outback for weekend adventures, a stylish WRX to zip around in, or a Forester that’s been your reliable daily driver, Subarus have a reputation for lasting forever.
Let’s break it all down and see if buying out your Subaru lease is the right move for you.
Why Buy Out Your Subaru Lease?
Subarus aren’t just cars; they last long enough to basically become family members. They’re known for reliability, all-wheel drive climbing, and resale values that stay impressively high. If you’re leasing one, there are some solid reasons why buying it out might be your best option:
- You Already Love Your Car – You know exactly how your Subaru handles, how many crumbs are under the seats, and whether or not your dog has claimed the backseat as their throne. Why start over?
- Avoid Mileage & Wear Fees – Exceeded your lease’s mileage limit? Got a few “love marks” from off-roading (or city parking)? A lease buyout lets you dodge extra fees dealerships love to charge when you return your car.
- Subarus Hold Their Value – The used car market is still strong, and your Subaru might be worth more than its buyout price. Subaru has long been known for strong resale values, and Lease End's transaction data backs that up. Many Subaru drivers finish their lease with positive lease equity, meaning their vehicle is worth more than its buyout price.
- Skip the Dealership Hassle – Buying out your lease means no awkward conversations, surprise fees, or a salesperson trying to put you in a brand-new lease you don’t want.
Subaru Lease Buyout Equity: One of the Most Consistent Brands We See
If you're leasing a Subaru, there's a very good chance your vehicle has held its value exceptionally well.
Based on lease buyout transactions Lease End has processed, 95.9% of Subaru lease buyouts had positive equity, with drivers averaging $4,785 in lease equity at the time of purchase.
Lease equity is the difference between what your Subaru is worth today and what it costs to buy it out. When your vehicle's market value is higher than your buyout price, you've built positive equity—and that can make buying out your lease one of the most affordable ways to keep driving the car you already know.
What makes Subaru especially interesting isn't one standout model—it's the consistency across the lineup. Six of the seven Subaru models we analyzed had positive equity rates above 95%, making Subaru one of the most reliable manufacturers in our lease buyout data.
The Subaru Forester led the brand with an average of $5,608 in lease equity, while the Subaru Ascent was the lone model that performed below the rest of the lineup.
Subaru Models People Love to Buy Out
ubaru drivers don't just buy out one or two standout models. Lease End's transaction data shows strong lease equity across nearly the entire Subaru lineup, which helps explain why so many drivers decide to keep the vehicle they've already been enjoying.
Here are a few of the most popular models for lease buyouts:
Subaru Outback – The adventure wagon built for road trips, camping, and Costco hauls.
Subaru Forester – Spacious, efficient, and equipped with legendary AWD. It’s like a personal mountain goat on wheels.
Subaru WRX – With its slick looks and superior speed, what's not to love?
Subaru Crosstrek – The compact SUV that can handle city commutes and weekend off-road getaways with ease.
Subaru Legacy – A sedan that sticks around thanks to its comfort, reliability, and AWD capability.
At Lease End, we’ve helped more than 60,000 drivers buy out their leases as of early 2026, including hundreds of Subaru drivers, so we have a wealth of proprietary lease buyout data that can provide insight to lessees.
While exact monthly payments vary by driver according to credit score, vehicle, and other factors, the following chart can give lessees an idea of what they might expect in a lease buyout for their particular vehicle.

2. Check Your Subaru’s Market Value
With Subarus holding their value so well, it’s worth checking how much your car is selling for. If your Subaru is worth more than your buyout price, you've built positive lease equity. That's one of the biggest reasons many Subaru drivers choose to buy out their lease instead of returning it. We can check on that for you too.

Super Simple & Efficient
Super Simple & Efficient. Javier was upfront about everything & took a lot of pressure & stress off my plate. I didn't have to deal with driving into the dealership & deal with their finance dept like they wanted me to & we're already complete & loan funded within a day. He also pushed the lender to come down on their rate a little, which was nice. I'll definitely be using them for any other cars for the future.
